"The honeymoon cabin" one hour west of Nashville is perfect for a weekend getaway for two. Can sleep as many as four. A lovely place to seclude yourself from life's busyness. Small log cabin in the woods. Nice porch for sitting on warm nights. It has a full kitchen, full bath and living area on the main level, (a queen pull-out mattress for extra guests as well.) The king bed is up a flight of stairs in the loft. Wood burning fireplace for cold winter nights. Fire pit and hot tub outside for cool fall and spring nights. And a gas grill for grilling!
We are located on a peaceful and secluded 300+ acre farm an hour west of Nashville. There are trails around and through the property for guests to enjoy. We have cattle and horses on the property. We also have a small garden that will be available to guests as the season provides.
We have a cream and white dog, LeeLoo, that has free range of the property. She will most likely greet you upon your arrival or join you on your walk. She's very sweet and social, she just wants to meet everyone! She will bark a lot!!
**There is NO WI-FI , INTERNET OR TV in this space. There is also VERY LITTLE phone service! We recommend bringing books, games, journals or small hobbies. If weather is supposed to be rainy you might consider bringing a computer with movies DOWNLOADED on it. (Or one with dvd capabilities.)
We are a twenty minute drive to Loretta Lynn's Ranch and Waverly, TN (west). A half-hour from Dickson (east) and an hour outside of Nashville. This provides guest the option of going to the city for the day.
Garden, farm beef and fresh chicken eggs available as the season allows. Pond for swimming and fishing.
Directions for Long Rifle Loop: Follow the trail behind your cabin to the left. This will lead you to the children's tree fort, the barn (Farm Retreat), the farm animals, and the pond and pond dock. From here follow the gravel drive (over the main driveway from the road) until you find the trail in the woods again. It will bring you right back to your cabin.
We will be available for guests if we're needed/ wanted. Otherwise, we leave you in peace to enjoy the solitude! You will likely see us coming and going. Also, Derrick, our farm manager, Marcia, our cohost and the property owners might be seen while you’re here. Feel free to waive anyone down if you have questions.
We have a mix breed dog named Leeloo who will likely join you on walks. We have three other rentals on the property as well as our Airbnb headquarters and the main cabin reserved for family visitors. Know that if you stay with us there is a chance you'll run into other visitors while accessing the trails or the pond! Our other accommodations can be found at RockNRefuge.com
The power has a habit of going out in inclement weather or strong winds. It doesn’t normally stay out for longer than 2-3 hours. In the country, if the power is out, so is the water. So you will not be able to flush the potty during an outage. We provide candles, flash lights, puzzles and books for your entertainment during the outages. We’re sorry for the inconvenience but if your power is out, so is ours. We feel your pain and frustration.
The closest grocery store is 10 miles away. We suggest going to the store BEFORE you arrive and getting essential food items! We have suggestions for where to shop both locally and regionally listed in the guide book! (The guide book can be found inside the cabin or on our airbnb link.)
THERE IS NO INTERNET ACCESS at this cabin. There is also NO TV and VERY LITTLE CELL SERVICE! Please plan accordingly!
There is a $40 pet fee added to your stay. (Alternatively you can pay cash upon your departure.) We also ask that you bring something to cover the furniture if your pup is accustomed to being on the sofa or bed. Pets MUST be up to date on flea and tick medication before you arrive!!! Please read through all the rules regarding pets before arrival!
Check in is flexible. We TRY to accomodate early check in when we can ...just ask us if it's doable!
Check out is at 10am unless otherwise discussed with us.
Please feel free to share any photos of your time on our farm to our social media page, Rock 'N Refuge, @rock_n_refuge or #rocknrefuge #honeymooncabin
We do have eggs and beef from our farm animals if you'd like to purchase any of those items. (Please note that depending on the time of year eggs may be unavailable and beef may be sparse).
Your first load of firewood is free, but any subsequent load of wood after that will be $10 cash.
